Firedance creates smart-lighting software designed to bring music to life at home. Its upcoming product, FirePod, syncs compatible lights with music played through Spotify, Apple Music, and other audio apps, so colors can change as songs change. The service is designed to work with smart-light brands including Philips Hue, WiZ, LIFX, Govee, Nanoleaf, and GE Cync, as well as additional supported devices. Music can be played from phones, tablets, computers, or TVs with Bluetooth.
Through the Firedance app, users can control lights from a phone, tablet, or desktop, switch them on or off, set a shared color, and create custom palettes. Lights can also reflect album-art colors, while the app displays the current track and lighting colors. Firedance says it operates on the home network without requiring a cloud account or cloud-based syncing, and supports integration with Apple Home, Google Home, and Alexa. Intended for home gatherings such as birthdays, game nights, and parties, FirePod is not yet available.
