About Fireflies West
Fireflies West is a vibrant cycling community dedicated to raising funds for cancer research at City of Hope. Established in 2007, this annual charity bike ride has successfully generated over 4 million dollars through its picturesque tours along California’s coast, specifically from San Francisco to Los Angeles. What began as a single bike ride across the Alps has blossomed over the past 25 years into a global network of cyclists passionate about making a difference.
Fireflies West is part of a larger family of tours, including Fireflies East, Antipodes, and Patagonia, each creating unique routes that foster camaraderie among cyclists while supporting crucial cancer research initiatives. The Fireflies Cycling Club (FFCC) further enriches this community, offering year-round training rides and support to cyclists outside of the event weeks, with an engaging Los Angeles chapter boasting over 300 members.
