Firhill Youth Project and Community Sports Hub is a Scottish charity based at Firhill Basin in North Glasgow, focused on helping young people thrive through sport and community connection. Since its inception in 2019, the project has provided local young people with opportunities to get active, build friendships and develop confidence and practical skills. It is Glasgow’s only youth project focused on widening young people’s access to water sports.
The hub offers free, structured, inclusive weekly sessions for young people from Primary 5 upwards, running from April to October. Activities include rowing and other multisport opportunities, with an emphasis on water-based experiences in a fun and supportive setting. The project also creates pathways for young people, coaches and volunteers to develop leadership skills and take part in training and qualifications.
Volunteers can contribute their time, receive support and training, and work as part of a team. The charity also welcomes partnerships with organisations, building on collaborations with Scottish Rowing, Glasgow Life Sport, Glasgow Kayak Club and Partick Thistle Football Club.
