Fir State Golf Club

Fir State Golf Club is a Washington-based golf organization established in 1947 to expand access to the game and strengthen minority participation in Seattle and the Pacific Northwest. Guided by its motto, “Investing in Our Future Through Golf,” the club combines a longstanding community legacy with opportunities for players of different ages and skill levels. Its activities include regular club play, a multi-round championship series, annual and invitational tournaments, and events for women and juniors. Fir State also provides golf instruction and safe playing spaces for beginners, young people, women, and people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.

The club’s junior golf program develops young players through coaching, competitive opportunities, and partnerships, including work with Why Not You Academy to support its high school golf team. Through its foundation, Fir State helps provide access to golf and supports junior golf and scholarship programs. The club is affiliated with the Northwest Golf Association and Washington Golf, and its broader connections include the Western States Golf Association, whose programs and events reach participants across seven states. Fir State’s history includes notable golfers and a continuing commitment to building the game for future generations.
