First Cry Photography is a photography and doula-services business based in Carbondale, Illinois, serving families in Southern Illinois. Founded by Kendra, the brand focuses on supporting families through the birth experience and preserving its meaningful early moments. Kendra offers photography to document the arrival of a newborn, alongside doula support intended to help clients feel comfortable, heard, and cared for. The combined “doulatog” package brings these services together, pairing birth support with photographs of a family’s first moments with their baby.

The experience can include education, advocacy, and compassionate support as plans or circumstances change during pregnancy and birth. First Cry Photography’s care may also extend into the early days at home, as illustrated by a client account describing help during a difficult emotional period after birth and support with breastfeeding. Through its photography and doula services, the business aims to help families feel accompanied throughout an intimate and important transition, while creating lasting memories of welcoming a new child.
