First Folio Theater is a premier non-profit professional theater located in the western suburbs of Chicago. With a 24-year history, they have been dedicated to presenting intimate productions of classic and contemporary works. Their home at the Mayslake Peabody Estate provides a unique theatrical experience that enriches the community.

First Folio believes that theater should be accessible to everyone and strives to reflect and amplify diverse perspectives. They are committed to equity, diversity, and inclusion, supporting the creation and development of new work, and nurturing the contributions and leadership of women and non-binary artists. They also prioritize amplifying the voices and experiences of BIPOC and LGBTQIA artists and leaders.

First Folio's productions have garnered critical acclaim, earning 7 Jeff Awards and 42 Jeff Nominations for Excellence in Chicago Theater. They have performed a wide range of works, including half of the Shakespearean canon and original adaptations such as Cymbeline: A Musical Folk Tale. Beyond exceptional productions, First Folio offers an immersive experience within the historic Mayslake Peabody Mansion.
