About FIRST Illinois Robotics
FIRST Illinois Robotics is an educational non-profit organization that aims to increase the number and excellence of young people going into scientific and technical pursuits. They offer five programs that cater to different age groups and challenges, ensuring that learning never stops building upon itself. These programs include FIRST LEGO League Discover, FIRST LEGO League Explore, FIRST LEGO League Challenge, FIRST Tech Challenge, and FIRST Robotics Competition.
Starting at age 6 and continuing through middle and high-school levels up to age 18, young people can participate at any level. Each program provides an environment where students, educators, professionals, and the technical community come together to cultivate lifelong learning in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). By participating in these programs, young people develop important skills such as creativity, teamwork, communication, gracious professionalism, and self-confidence, preparing them for tomorrow's workplace.
FIRST Illinois Robotics is dedicated to engaging students throughout the state of Illinois with exciting, competition-based technology programs and providing them with the tools and opportunities to explore and pursue STEM fields. Their mission is to advance innovative programs that foster lifelong learning and prepare young people to tackle the challenges of the future
