First Look SEN is a special educational needs support service created from a parent’s personal experience and passion for helping children with additional needs. It works with children, parents, families, carers, schools, nurseries, trusts, local authorities, charities and community groups. Support is available at home and in schools, and includes tailored support plans, practical advice, SEN strategy development, project management, and guidance for SENCOs, teachers and teaching assistants.

The service provides awareness and specialist training for parents, carers, individuals, schools and organisations. Topics include SEN, autism, PDA, sensory needs and ADHD, with options such as whole-school sessions and training for teaching assistants. First Look SEN also offers low-cost advocacy for special educational needs and Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). Its IPSEA-qualified knowledge supports families through the EHCP process and helps schools develop robust plans.

An information hub offers free resources and links on SEN strategies, social stories, sensory support, speech and language, conditions, wellbeing and more. First Look SEN draws on eight years of experience supporting children and families.
