About First Nations Training
First Nations Training is a 100% Indigenous-owned and operated, Queensland-based consultancy providing culturally safe vocational education for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Led by Ian Ludwick, a Bulgun Warra, Ankamuthi and Wakaman man from Hope Vale, Cape York, the business has delivered training since 2010. Its programs are designed and delivered by Indigenous trainers with lived experience in rural and remote communities, connecting learning with culture, Country and community.
The organisation offers training across Health and Community Services, Business and Workplace Skills, Screen and Media, and First Aid and CPR. Courses develop practical capabilities, from workplace communication and teamwork to emergency response and digital storytelling. First Nations Training also runs Cultural Competency and Leadership Workshops to help organisations build respect, cross-cultural understanding and culturally safe workplaces. Training is available face-to-face, online and in remote community settings. Nationally recognised qualifications are delivered in partnership with Allens Training Pty Ltd, while learners benefit from community-focused education that reflects Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander knowledge, values and ways of learning.
