Fischereiverein Rietberg

Fischereiverein Rietberg e. V. von 1929 is a fishing association based in Rietberg, in Germany’s Gütersloh district. Describing itself as the district’s oldest fishing club, it supports recreational angling, member activities, youth participation and responsible fishing. The association offers preparation courses for the fishing examination, with instruction, course materials and scheduled sessions for prospective anglers. Members can take part in fishing events, work parties and community activities, and connect through dedicated WhatsApp groups for general angling discussions and work-service arrangements.

The club also provides information for visiting anglers and members about fishing permissions, required documents, equipment, local regulations and fishing seasons. Its website shares guidance on accessible fishing locations along the Ems and explains options for anglers with disabilities, including the special fishing licence and accompanying requirements. Youth development is an important part of the association’s work: it seeks fishing partners for young people and welcomes donations of usable angling equipment, while emphasizing child protection and clear conduct standards.
