Fischergilde

Fischergilde Illemad-Lauterbach e.V. is a fishing club serving the community of Buttenwiesen. The association brings together local fishing enthusiasts and supports the next generation through youth activities, including introductory fishing sessions where young people can learn about angling and get answers to questions about age requirements and fishing examinations. Its members also take part in club events and maintain a record of the organisation’s history, activities and fishing waters.

The club plays an active role in community life through events and local traditions. It has organised the Tag der Schwäbischen Fischerjugend, a regional gathering for youth groups from affiliated fishing clubs, and has served fish specialties at local markets. Offerings include fish burgers made with local fish, smoked salmon rolls, herring rolls and salmon substitute rolls at the Lauterbach Advent market. Since 1995, the club has also sold grilled mackerel, a tradition that helped inspire the Lauterbach Christmas market. In addition, members volunteer to maintain the natural Kneipp facility along the Stadelbach between Illemad and Lauterbach.
