The International University Sports Federation (FISU), established in 1949, is dedicated to promoting university sports on a global scale. FISU aims to enhance the role of sports in higher education, believing that athletic pursuits harmonize with academic endeavors, ultimately enriching students' experiences. Through its various initiatives, FISU provides students worldwide with the opportunity to engage in competitive and collaborative athletic environments.

The organization hosts prestigious events such as the FISU Summer and Winter World University Games, championships, and the International Day of University Sport, all designed to foster a sense of community among aspiring athletes. In addition to sports, FISU emphasizes the importance of health and well-being through its Healthy Campus program, which seeks to establish international standards for physical and mental wellness in universities, aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. With a vision outlined in the FISU Global Strategy 2027, the federation continues to drive innovation and excellence in the world of university sports.
