FKT Budo France is the public-facing identity of the French Federation of Traditional Karate and Associated Martial Arts (FKTAMAF), established in 1984. The federation represents traditional karate in France and is affiliated with the European Traditional Karate Federation and the International Traditional Karate Federation. It promotes karate as an educational self-defence martial art grounded in respect, non-violence, ethical conduct and personal development. Its approach emphasizes effective use of the body and the principle of Todome-Waza, a decisive technique intended to neutralize an opponent.
The federation supports clubs and practitioners through information on starting an association, affiliation, insurance and passport applications, alongside guidance on regulations and statutes. Its website also offers introductions to traditional karate, its ethics and educational values, as well as biographies, photographs, videos, kata resources and press materials. Events include national competitions, European and international championships, and ITKF seminars and master courses. A shop and members’ area are also available.
