The Festival du Livre Africain de Marrakech (FLAM) is a literary and cultural festival celebrating African writing, books, and ideas in Marrakech, Morocco. Its 2026 edition is scheduled for April 23–25 at Les Étoiles de Jamaa El Fna, under the honorary presidency of Nobel Prize-winning author J. M.
G. Le Clézio. The festival brings together writers, artists, publishers, and readers from Africa and beyond for three days of free public events.
Its program features author encounters, literary discussions and debates, book presentations, and signing sessions, exploring themes such as publishing and preserving books in Africa, memory, emancipation, and new ways of imagining the future. FLAM also offers youth programming, a bookshop, evening events, and a gallery experience. Each edition connects literature with contemporary arts; the 2026 festival poster features work by artist Zoulikha Bouabdellah.
Through its annual editions, archives, and public program, FLAM creates a space for diverse voices and perspectives, encouraging exchange around African literature and its connections with the wider world
