Flapper Drones

Flapper Drones develops bioinspired flying robots that mimic the movement of birds and insects. Its flapping-wing platforms are designed for academic research, research and development, drone shows, and other creative projects. Rather than using fast-spinning propellers, the lightweight drones flap their wings, offering a distinctive appearance and a gentler way to fly near people. Their natural, low-frequency sound is also less intrusive than typical buzzing drone noise.

The company offers ready-to-fly platforms, including Nimble+, Nimble, and Nimble Triple, as well as customized drone solutions. Platforms can be adapted with custom wings and body shells, programmable RGB lighting, additional sensors, larger batteries, or alternative autopilot systems. They support position-controlled and autonomous operation using localization technologies such as motion capture, UWB, or GPS, and provide live telemetry and onboard data logging.

For events, Flapper Drones works with operators, artists, festivals, theme parks, and theaters to create tailored aerial experiences featuring robotic birds, butterflies, or fairies.
