FlightPath Rugby

FlightPath Rugby Union Canberra is a not-for-profit organisation creating a dedicated rugby pathway for girls in Canberra, from under-13 and under-15 through under-17 and into senior women’s rugby. Its purpose is to recruit, retain and develop female players by offering continuity, support and clear opportunities to progress beyond a single team or season.

The programme combines rugby coaching and training with mentoring, individual development goals and player welfare support. Development focuses on technical skills, game understanding, decision-making, confidence, leadership and preparation for senior rugby, while recognising each player’s experience, wellbeing and ambitions. FlightPath also helps players explore opportunities beyond club rugby, including ACT junior competitions, Rugby 7s, representative programmes and selected interstate tournaments.

For players moving from U17 into the senior game, the organisation offers introductions, guidance and structured preparation. It aims to provide a safe, respectful environment where players can grow at their own pace, whether they want to enjoy club rugby or pursue higher-level competition.
