About Floating Villa
Floating Villa is one of the few brands offering floating houses in Norway. While this concept is not widespread in the Nordic region yet, it is a common sight in the rest of the world and gaining popularity. Floating houses are permanently anchored, while houseboats have their own propulsion and are registered as boats. Both options provide an eco-friendly living solution, eliminating the need for excavation or construction on land.
Floating Villa has extensively researched modern waterfront homes across Europe and the world. The construction of their villa began in Vesterålen and was completed on Askøy after being transported by ship from Bergen. Initially moored at Bryggen in Bergen for six weeks, the house then spent three years rented out in Damsgårdssundet.
Due to regulations in Bergen, Floating Villa relocated to Nautnes in Øygarden municipality for two years. In August 2023, the house was moved to Holmen on Bjorøy, a serene location just 18 minutes away from Bergen by car and only 100 meters from the renowned Cornelius Seafood Restaurant.
