FloraFinder

FloraFinder is a non-profit website dedicated to making plant identification accessible and enjoyable for enthusiasts and novices alike. Founded by Tom Kent, who turned a personal journey into a passion for botany, FloraFinder aims to simplify the identification of native and introduced plants in North America. With a user-friendly design and no advertisements, the platform offers a straightforward approach to exploring the world of flora. Visitors can browse through a growing collection of high-quality photographs, including standard and detailed images that highlight distinguishing features of various plants.

FloraFinder not only provides visual aids but also enriches the identification process with interesting information on plant edibility, toxicity, and medical uses. Users can easily search for plants by common or Latin names, and filter results by type or location. Future enhancements include guided searches that function like a "twenty questions" game to make plant identification even more engaging. Tom’s mission is to empower everyone to connect with nature through the joy of plant discovery.
