Florandalucía is dedicated to studying and cataloging the vascular flora of Andalusia, with a particular focus on its eastern regions. This extensive project aims to create a comprehensive and updated Floristic Catalog, highlighting the remarkable phytodiversity of this area, which boasts approximately 3,300 species, 450 of which are endemic and often under threat. The catalog showcases around 160 plant families and illustrates the ecological richness and environmental fragility of Andalusian flora.

Contributions include original photographs by key collaborators such as Jesús Vílchez and Julián Fuentes, as well as images provided by other regional experts. Florandalucía is an open project, inviting researchers and enthusiasts alike to explore the diverse botanical features of one of the world's most significant areas for plant diversity. This initiative emphasizes not just the beauty of the flora but also the importance of conservation efforts in preserving these unique species and their habitats.
