About Florida Friendly Plants
Florida Friendly Plants, offered by Riverview Flower Farm, are specially selected garden plants that thrive in Florida's hot and humid climate. Founded in 1982 by Rick and Dave Brown, along with Dave's wife Diane, Riverview Flower Farm has dedicated years to growing and experimenting with plants to determine which varieties perform best in Florida. These selections are regularly updated to incorporate the latest breeding breakthroughs that have been tested to excel in Florida's environment.
In recognition of their innovative low impact pest fertilizer and water management systems, the Browns were awarded the prestigious Commissioner of Agriculture's Environmental Leadership Award in 2006. Riverview Flower Farm has also formed a partnership with Home Depot garden centers in peninsular Florida, ensuring that a wide variety of colorful, reliable, and guaranteed Florida Friendly Plants are stocked year-round. With this collaboration, Riverview Flower Farm is able to quickly bring to market the best performing and newest tested plants from breeders around the world.
