Florida HVAC Authority is a public reference for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems and services in Florida. Part of the Florida State Authority Network, it organizes information for homeowners, building operators, contractors, and others navigating the state’s HVAC sector. Its coverage reflects Florida’s humid subtropical and tropical conditions, which make cooling, moisture management, and indoor air quality important considerations.

The site provides guidance on residential and commercial HVAC systems, including central air conditioning, heat pumps, ductless mini-splits, geothermal systems, and equipment for mobile and manufactured homes. Topics also address system sizing, expected lifespan, maintenance schedules, air handlers, ductwork, ventilation, thermostats, hurricane preparedness, and corrosion risks in coastal areas.

For regulation and compliance, Florida HVAC Authority collects references on building codes, climate zones, energy efficiency standards, contractor licensing, county permits, new construction requirements, and refrigerant rules. It also covers rebates and energy incentives and offers resources for selecting a licensed contractor.
