Their innovative solution is a new generation of injectable gel that acts as a bone-seeding agent for quick and subtle local strengthening of fragile bones.

Once in place, the gel stimulates the deposition of the body's own minerals, rapidly transforming into strong, viable bone. Importantly, it complies with bone biology, ensuring no interference with bone vascularization and biomechanics. The gel is minimally invasive, injected directly into bone regions at high risk of fracture using a cannula.

Founded in July 2020 as a spin-off of the Laboratory of Biomechanical Orthopedics at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL), Flowbone is headquartered at EPFL Innovation Park in Switzerland. While their products are still under development and not yet available on the market, Flowbone aims to create a world where the elderly can enjoy a high level of independence and quality of life, free from the devastating impact of fragility fractures.
