Floyd Ward School of Dance is a renowned and reputable dance institution located in Vinton, VA. Established in 1928, it has been dedicated to providing a fun and family-friendly dance program to the children of the Roanoke Valley and beyond. Under the original namesake, Floyd Ward herself, this school has continued to teach, influence, and dance for almost 100 years.

Led by our Artistic Director, Jill Graybill, who was a student under Floyd Ward herself, our passionate instructors offer classes in various dance styles including ballet, tap, ballroom and Latin, contemporary, clogging, hip-hop, jazz, liturgical, lyrical, modern, and pointe. We also have advanced dance students who can audition for our prestigious Floyd Ward Dance Ensembles, allowing them to attend conventions and competitions along the east coast. In addition to our regular dance classes, we are proud to host the Angels from Heaven program, a non-profit initiative that gives children with special needs the opportunity to experience the joy of dance.

Through this program, we have inspired many graduates to pursue careers in this field. Join us for our annual Christmas Show and Spring Recital, which are held at the prestigious Berglund Center Auditorium.
