The Foundation for Displacement, Expulsion, Reconciliation is a significant German organization established by the Bundestag in December 2008. Focused on addressing historical injustices related to forced migrations and expulsion, the foundation operates the Documentation Centre, located in Berlin's historical Deutschlandhaus. This centre serves as a vital hub for education and remembrance, hosting a permanent exhibition that highlights refugee stories and special exhibitions that explore the complexities of displacement.

In addition to public outreach, the foundation provides educational resources tailored for schools and group visits, fostering discourse on these critical historical themes. The organization is governed by an esteemed Board and supported by an International Scientific Advisory Board, ensuring rigorous academic standards in its programs. Through its library and testimony archive, the foundation seeks to preserve personal narratives of displacement, offering valuable resources for family research and scholarship, inviting visitors to engage with Germany's multifaceted history of reconciliation.
