Flugplatz Plätzer

SFG Kaliwerk Hattorf e.V. is a volunteer-run flying club based at Segelfluggelände Plätzer, above Burghaun in Hesse. Founded in 1955, the club offers a welcoming, family-friendly setting for discovering aviation and learning to fly. Its instructors provide training for glider and ultralight pilot licences, guiding students from introductory flights and ground theory through supervised solo flying and practical examinations. Licensed ultralight pilots can also train for a banner-towing qualification.

The club maintains a five-aircraft fleet, including gliders for instruction and advanced flying, an ultralight aircraft, and a tow plane. Visitors can arrange introductory flights, sightseeing tours by glider or powered aircraft, and vouchers for flights, including glider aerobatics. The site also hosts company celebrations and group events, with flying experiences available for participants. Located between Bad Hersfeld and Fulda, the airfield operates mainly on weekends and public holidays from April to October, weather permitting.
