About FLVW
The Football and Athletics Association of Westphalia (FLVW) is the regional governing body for football and athletics in Westphalia, Germany. Its sports community includes around 1.1 million members, 2,500 clubs and 29 districts, making it one of the largest associations within the German Football Association and German Athletics Association. The FLVW supports clubs, athletes, coaches, officials and volunteers through services spanning competition, training and club development.
In football, it organizes league and cup competitions, futsal, refereeing, youth football, talent identification and development, and recreational activities including walking football and esports. Its athletics offering covers competitions, championships, running and walking, youth and school athletics, and talent development. The association also provides education and qualifications for coaches, referees and club managers, alongside seminars, advisory services and digital tools.
Beyond sport, the FLVW promotes inclusion, fair play, violence prevention, sustainability and volunteering. It shares news and resources through its publications and online channels, and operates the SportCentrum Kaiserau, a venue for events, training and health-related programs.
