Flying Aces of Aurora

Flying Aces of Aurora is an AMA-chartered radio-control flying club in Aurora, Ohio, bringing together beginners and experienced enthusiasts to enjoy model aviation. The club welcomes pilots of fixed-wing aircraft, helicopters, and quadcopters, and offers members opportunities to learn to fly, program aircraft electronics, and receive mentorship in building model kits. Its community also hosts flying events and member meetings, with an emphasis on sharing skills and enjoying time at the field.

The club’s Aurora Flying Field features a 300-foot geotextile runway, grass aprons, and a dedicated 140-foot-diameter area for control-line flying. Facilities include a shelter with a concrete pad, tables, and electrical outlets. The club shares the airfield with the Mantua Missile Club, generally using it on the first and third weekends of each month. Flying hours vary by day and aircraft power type; turbine aircraft are prohibited, and non-electric engines must have mufflers. Current AMA and club membership is required to use the facilities. Prospective members can contact the club by email with questions about joining or visiting.
