Threshold is a weather decision-support app for UK and European private pilots, designed to help them assess whether conditions fit their personal flying limits. It brings METAR observations, TAF forecasts and amendments together to deliver a clear GO or HOLD verdict for a selected airfield. Rather than replacing flight planning, Threshold acts as a check against the minima pilots set for themselves.

Pilots can create separate presets for different types of flying, including Solo, Dual, cross-country and night flights, with limits for cloudbase, visibility, wind, crosswind and gusts. The app monitors METARs, TAF amendments and special reports, updating its verdict when conditions change. Its Lock Screen, Home Screen and Dynamic Island displays are intended to make the latest assessment easy to see.

Threshold also explains how each verdict was reached, showing raw weather data and the rules applied. Its drift detector highlights gradual changes to a pilot’s saved limits, helping users stay mindful of their original decisions. The app includes data for 928 UK and EU airfields.
