Weatherly Aircraft Company is a renowned brand that offers safe, efficient, reliable, and affordable ag-aircraft for small-grain agrochemical application. Their story began in the early 1960s when John C. Weatherly converted a Fairchild M-62 into the Weatherly WM-62C agricultural aircraft. Realizing the limited supply of WW-II trainers, John decided to design his own aircraft, leading to the creation of the Weatherly 201 in 1967. This innovative design featured a single-seat, mono-wing, aluminum spray plane powered by a Pratt & Whitney 985-R engine. Over 100 Weatherly 201 aircraft were produced by 1978.
In 1979, John Weatherly redesigned the ag-airplane and introduced the model 620, which underwent further enhancements over the years, ultimately resulting in the model 620-B in 1992. Noteworthy contributions to the ag-aviation industry include John Weatherly's invention of the Weath-aero fan, a device that compensates for wind impact on agrochemical deposition. Additionally, Weatherly has stood out in the market with unique and quirky paint schemes.
Weatherly Aircraft Company is now relocating to Wichita, Kansas, to better serve its traditional market. With a skilled workforce and a vast network of fabricators and parts suppliers, Weatherly plans to resume production of the 620-B and 620-BTG models by the end of 2019.
