About FMA
The Foundation for Media Alternatives (FMA) is a nonprofit NGO based in the Philippines that aims to democratize information and communication systems for citizens and communities. Since its establishment in 1987, FMA has been dedicated to empowering civil society organizations (CSOs) and other disadvantaged sectors by promoting the strategic and appropriate use of information and communications technologies (ICTs) for democratization and popular empowerment. FMA's programs cover a wide range of areas, including gender and ICT, women's rights online, privacy rights, internet rights, media literacy, and disinformation research.
They provide valuable resources such as briefing papers, reports, studies, and comic series to promote awareness and understanding of these issues. By advocating for democratic governance of ICTs, human rights in digital environments, and equitable access to and responsible use of ICTs, FMA actively engages with development stakeholders to drive positive change in the information age. Follow FMA for the latest updates on their initiatives and contact them directly for more information on how they strive to create a vibrant and socially progressive society that fully supports human rights in information societies
