Fundación Naturaleza y Hombre (FNYH) is a conservation foundation established in 1994 to address biodiversity loss and promote a balanced relationship between people and nature. Based in Cantabria, Spain, it began by restoring the Marismas de Alday wetlands and went on to develop the Green Belt of Santander Bay, with conservation work across ten areas. Today, its projects span Spain and include international initiatives in Africa and the Atlantic Forest region of Argentina, Paraguay, and Brazil.
The foundation protects natural and cultural heritage while supporting traditional, sustainable human activities. Its work also includes environmental education, public engagement, and resources such as books, guides, and educational materials. Visitors can explore its outreach and nature centers, including Fluviarium, the Ethnobotanical Center, the forest nursery, Campanarios de Azaba Biological Reserve and Station, and the Alday Marshes Nature House.
FNYH welcomes collaboration and support through donations, corporate responsibility initiatives, and European Solidarity Corps opportunities. Its conservation efforts have received several awards, including the 2018 BBVA Foundation Biodiversity Conservation Award
