Foundation for Organic Agriculture Tanzania (FOATZ) is a dedicated organization that aims to support small farmers, particularly those who lack knowledge of ecological organic farming practices, market skills for natural/organic products, and sustainable livelihoods. Tanzania heavily relies on agriculture, which employs around 77% of the population. However, the changing climate poses challenges for sustainable use of natural resources in crop and livestock production.

Many small-scale farmers currently employ harmful agroecological practices such as small-sized farmland, deforestation, inadequate tools for land preparation, monocropping, overgrazing, and bush-fires. FOATZ strives to address these issues by providing knowledge and services to promote organic agriculture. Their vision is to see organic food on every table in Tanzania, and their mission is to engage all stakeholders, facilitate the exchange of scientific knowledge, and help practitioners implement organic farming systems.
