Focus Surrey is a registered charity supporting families in the greater Surrey area who have children with autism and other communication difficulties. Run by volunteer parents of children with autism spectrum disorder, the organisation offers a welcoming, child-centred approach to support and learning. Its Saturday Club provides autistic children with a safe, nurturing and enjoyable environment to develop social and other developmental skills.
The club also introduces families to Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), a science- and evidence-based methodology for understanding behaviour and using that knowledge to guide improvements in children’s development. Board Certified Behaviour Analysts train and supervise the club’s volunteers in line with ABA principles. Families can register their child for the club’s waiting list and access information about ABA, family support and local SEND services through the organisation.
Focus Surrey also shares news and events, hosts a guest speaker series, offers information for volunteers and consultants, and invites the community to get involved, support its work and take part in fundraising activities
