Förderkreis für krebskranke Kinder im Allgäu e.V. is a volunteer-run support association serving children and young people with cancer and their families across the Allgäu region and nearby communities. Founded in 1987 by parents with personal experience of childhood cancer, the organisation offers understanding and practical support from people who know the challenges firsthand.

Its work extends to the whole family, including siblings. The association arranges events, outings and opportunities to meet, and supports families during treatment and recovery. It also assists the oncology ward and backs relevant facilities and projects. Through a growing network, it connects families with additional services, information and resources that it cannot provide directly.

The association shares guidance for parents, carers and others seeking to understand childhood cancer, and signposts families to information portals, counselling, rehabilitation, respite and holiday programmes. Regular gatherings, including parent cafés, create opportunities for families to connect. As a member of the German Children’s Cancer Association and other networks, the Förderkreis helps represent families’ interests and share up-to-date support.
