The Förderkreis Qualitätssicherung im Gesundheitswesen in Schleswig-Holstein e. V. (FKQS) is a member-supported association working to advance quality assurance in healthcare across Schleswig-Holstein. Founded in 1993, it brings together people and organisations engaged in improving patient care. The FKQS creates opportunities to exchange knowledge through regular symposia, information events, interviews and working-group meetings, covering topics relevant to healthcare policy and practice.
Its projects and resources address areas including pain therapy and personalised medicine. For example, the association publishes an updated overview of medicines used in pain treatment according to the WHO step scheme, alongside the Pain Router. The FKQS also promotes innovation and research through a prize for scientifically grounded approaches to ambulatory and hospital-based patient care, involving professionals from medicine and nursing. Members can access dedicated information and events, including material on pharmaceutical agreements in Schleswig-Holstein. The organisation also shares news, interviews, event announcements and health-related updates through its website and newsletter, helping its community stay informed and connected.
