FolkTech AI LLC is a Las Vegas, Nevada company building local-first artificial intelligence for businesses and personal use. Its approach is to run AI on hardware customers control, helping keep core processing, memory, and answers on the device. The company emphasizes that deployment also depends on factors such as hardware, power, backups, permissions, and chosen connections.

Its products include Serena, a local assistant for Mac that is free to download and requires no account for core use, and Serena Business, which helps organizations work with approved procedures, policies, and training materials by asking questions in plain English. FolkTech AI invites teams to discuss their workflows and assess whether Serena Business fits their needs. The company is also developing Jake, described as an in-home fall and isolation detection product, and .ftai, a human-readable, machine-parseable format for memory, protocols, and agents. FolkTech Academy is planned as a school for building and operating local-first systems.
