Foncreagro Cajamarca

FONCREAGRO is a nonprofit civil association working to support the development of families in Cajamarca, Peru. Established in 1999 with funding from Minera Yanacocha, the organization focuses on strengthening the potential of rural areas and creating better opportunities for local communities. Its approach places residents at the center of development projects and combines technical assistance, business training, and commercial partnerships to help advance rural livelihoods and productive activity.

FONCREAGRO shares information about projects in progress and completed initiatives, alongside training manuals, research, newsletters, and magazines. Its website also features community stories, photographs, videos, news, events, and calls for applications. Recent activities highlighted include support for agricultural producers, livestock and cheese competitions, recognition of farming communities, and environmental initiatives. The organization has also reported a partnership with AGAP to strengthen agricultural development in Cajamarca. FONCREAGRO works with allies and partners including Yanacocha, ALAC, and Fondoempleo, and presents its mission through the guiding phrase “Development from the countryside.”.
