About Fabienne Colas Fdn
Fabienne Colas Foundation is the largest organization for Black culture in Canada. Established in 2005, this non-profit artistic organization is dedicated to promoting diversity and inclusion in cinema, art, and culture in Canada and abroad. With a mission to create a more inclusive society, the foundation offers various programs and initiatives.
Être Noir. e au Canada focuses on highlighting the experiences of Black individuals in Canada, while Être Noir. e & LGBTQ+ au Québec explores the intersection of being Black and LGBTQ+ in Quebec.
The foundation also organizes festivals in cinema, music, arts, and other multidisciplinary areas to provide a platform for artists and support their work. In addition to that, they offer employment opportunities as administrators, accountants, directors, and programmers. With a recent government funding of 3 million dollars, the foundation is launching the Festwave Institute to further its mission.
