The Fondation de soccer Jean-Yves Phaneuf is a community foundation that has supported access to soccer for more than 20 years. Its mission is to help children and adults from families facing financial hardship take part in the sport in a healthy, encouraging environment. The foundation views soccer as a way to foster personal development, discipline and solidarity, and to support the integration of newcomers.

Its assistance helps participants pursue their sporting goals regardless of their financial circumstances. The foundation pays registration fees for various activities and awards scholarships to recognize and encourage exceptional performance. It also distributes dozens of soccer balls and pieces of equipment each year to school daycares, school parks and other community settings. Over the years, it has helped hundreds of young people.

The foundation’s activities include the Friendly Police Soccer Tournament and the Tous pour le soccer tournament. Based in Granby, Quebec, the Fondation de soccer Jean-Yves Phaneuf invites community members to help expand opportunities for young people through the benefits of sport.
