About Fondation Tara Océan
Fondation Tara Océan, based in Paris, is the first foundation in France dedicated to the Ocean and recognized for its public utility. Their mission is two-fold: to explore the Ocean in order to better understand it, and to share scientific knowledge with the aim of raising collective citizen awareness. For the past 20 years, the foundation has supported innovative Ocean science in partnership with top research laboratories, focusing on studying marine biodiversity as well as observing and anticipating the impacts of climate change and pollution.
Recognizing the urgent need for collective responsibility in protecting the Ocean, Fondation Tara Océan educates citizens about Ocean issues, empowers younger generations, fosters international cooperation, and mobilizes policymakers. As a Special Observer to the UN, the foundation actively participates in important decisions about the Ocean.
