Fondazione Bruno Boerci E. T. S.
is a nonprofit foundation established in Pavia on 13 May 2009 by Giuseppina Bezzi Boerci in memory of her husband, Bruno Boerci. Its mission is to support scientific research in oncology by funding promising research projects, scholarships and training opportunities for talented young people. The foundation also supports the Bruno Boerci Oncology Biobank, based at the Istituto Maugeri IRCCS in Pavia, and aims to expand the equipment available to it.
Its work includes backing young researchers in collaboration with the University of Pavia and supporting research related to SARS-CoV-2. The foundation reports having contributed €324,000 in scholarships, donated five defibrillators to San Matteo Hospital and helped care for 3,000 patients. It invites individuals to support its mission through donations and purchases from its online shop, including a fundraising kit.
