Fondazione Carrozza

Fondazione Carrozza S. Leonardo Pollicino is a philanthropic organization based in Messina, Italy, established through the wishes of lawyer Francesco Pollicino and his wife, Michelina Carrozza di San Leonardo. Having had no children, the couple dedicated their considerable estate to medical research, with the aim of contributing to the fight against cancer and supporting the wider community.

The foundation uses income from its assets to fund scholarships for graduates of the University of Messina’s Faculty of Medicine and Surgery. Applicants must have achieved the highest marks with honors and be pursuing, or planning to pursue, specialization in cancer research or treatment. Its work supports university and postgraduate education, as well as scientific research serving an important social purpose.

The foundation shares information about its statutes, governance, financial statements, headquarters, press activities and scholarship competitions. Its published materials include calls for scholarship applications, annual accounts and updates on award ceremonies.
