Fondazione Giuseppe Dessì is a cultural foundation based in Villacidro, Sardinia, dedicated to promoting literature, local heritage and creative expression. Since beginning its activities in 1999, it has organized the Premio Letterario Giuseppe Dessì, a national Italian-language literary competition recognized as one of Sardinia’s most established and long-running awards. The prize includes sections for narrative and poetry and is accompanied by a programme of cultural events, literary tributes and special initiatives.
The foundation also develops projects that connect culture with community life and young people. These include activities focused on youth perspectives, writing and new forms of storytelling, such as workshops on manga and animation. Its work extends to places associated with local history and culture, including Casa Dessì, Mulino Cadoni and the Literary Park dedicated to Giuseppe Dessì.
Through its website, the foundation shares information about the award, its rules, jury, past winners and programme, as well as news, press materials and a multimedia collection featuring images and recordings related to the writer.
