About Fondazione IEO-MONZINO
The Istituto Europeo di Oncologia (IEO) and Centro Cardiologico Monzino are supported by the Fondazione IEO-MONZINO, a foundation dedicated to advancing research in oncology and cardiology. With a mission to provide the best care for patients, the foundation supports groundbreaking research projects and initiatives.
The IEO focuses on women's cancer, with a special emphasis on ovarian cancer and the role of tumor stem cells in its treatment. The Proteina PCSK9 research project at Centro Cardiologico Monzino investigates the protein responsible for cholesterol development, heart attacks, strokes, and aortic valve calcification.
The foundation has raised over 50 million euros in the past 10 years, supporting the research efforts of IEO and Monzino. Additionally, it has provided over 230 scholarships to young researchers to further their studies. Through initiatives like Smart Food, the foundation educates individuals about the role of intelligent foods in preventing chronic illnesses.
