About FoN Ghana
FoN Ghana is a dynamic brand that focuses on environmental sustainability and community development in Ghana. With a strong commitment to preserving natural resources and addressing climate change, FoN Ghana works in partnership with various organizations to implement impactful interventions across the country. Their areas of intervention include environment and climate change, natural resources and assets, and community development.
Through workshops, capacity building, and support, FoN Ghana empowers marginalized communities and individuals to have a voice and contribute to effective governance in their respective sectors. FoN Ghana's efforts have not gone unnoticed. Nana Akosua Gyamfiaba II, the paramount Queen Mother of the Shama Traditional Area, was recently honored at the Ghana Chieftaincy Awards.
She attributed her success in advocating for marginalized women and youth to the support provided by Friends of the Nation. The brand has also received commendation from the National Fish Processors and Traders Association (NAFPTA) for their capacity enhancement support, which has helped strengthen the association and its contribution to the governance of the fisheries sector in Ghana. FoN Ghana is currently involved in an ongoing campaign to raise public awareness about the plastic crisis and encourage environmental responsibility.
They are also working alongside Oxfam to assist communities affected by the Ewoyaa Lithium Project, providing training on compensation, community rights, and environmental governance. Additionally, the FarmSense Soil Testing kit, part of the European Union Funded ReDIAL Project, has been commended by parliament's committee on food, agriculture, and cocoa affairs, highlighting FoN Ghana's dedication to sustainable agriculture practices. FoN Ghana continues to be a leading force in promoting environmental sustainability and community development in Ghana, and their impactful interventions contribute to a better future for all
