About Fondation Haïtienne de Développement Agricole Durable
Fonhdad, short for Fondation Haïtienne de Développement Agricole, is a non-profit organization dedicated to modernizing Haiti's agricultural sector. They strive to achieve this by introducing innovative techniques, fertilizers, and improved equipment to enhance productivity and commercialization of agricultural products. At the heart of Fonhdad's work is the Rural Center for Sustainable Development of Bas Boën (CRDD).
This center serves as a research, demonstration, training, and popularization hub, focused on upgrading Haitian agriculture. Through the CRDD, Fonhdad introduces improved techniques, varieties, and equipment to drive modernization. The Bas Boen Laboratory (BBL) is an essential part of Fonhdad's efforts.
It serves as a facility for analysis, research, and experimentation, enabling the development of sustainable agricultural practices.
