Fontello is an online icon-font generator that helps users build custom fonts from selected icons. Its interface supports choosing glyphs, clearing or resetting selections, and adjusting icon names and character codes. Users can also set a CSS prefix and access advanced font settings to tailor their font configuration. For additional customization, the tool accepts custom SVG icons or SVG fonts through a drag-and-drop area.
Once a font is ready, users can download the webfont, save or retrieve its configuration, and save a session for later use. Fontello also provides links to help and wiki resources, invites users to ask questions in Gitter, and offers ways to report bugs on GitHub, follow updates, or donate. The site notes that JavaScript must be enabled and that cookies cannot be completely disabled for it to work. Fontello is focused on the practical process of selecting icons and exporting the files needed to use them as a custom webfont.
