Food and Diet Goal (FDG) is an Italian food and nutrition project that brings together nutritional knowledge, food businesses and gastronomy. Rather than starting with diets, it focuses on ingredients, helping people learn about food and make informed choices. Its work includes identifying products with strong nutritional qualities, including organic and non-organic foods, and highlighting producers, preferably artisanal businesses with short supply chains. The selections are presented in ways intended to fit the Mediterranean diet and support balanced eating.
FDG shares recipes designed to reduce added simple sugars and salt, and features Gelato Perfecto, a gelato offering presented for different dietary needs. Its “The Doctor and the Chef” events combine educational talks with tastings, helping participants explore foods through both nutritional information and sensory experience. The project also publishes articles on nutrition, recipes and upcoming events, and offers the FDG app, with informational, educational, illustrative and commercial content. Founded by Flavio Di Gregorio, FDG works with medical and food professionals, including chefs, to connect healthy eating with enjoyment.
