About FoodCycle Indonesia
FoodCycle Indonesia is a non-profit organization based in Jakarta that aims to address the issue of food waste and hunger in Indonesia. As the second-largest food wastage country in the world, millions of people in Indonesia suffer from hunger and malnutrition. FoodCycle Indonesia collects and distributes surplus food from various sources such as weddings, bakeries, corporate lunches, supermarkets, and FMCG to those in need.
They strive to break the cycle of hunger by redistributing untouched surplus food, reprocessing imperfect products, and recycling food waste. In addition to their food distribution efforts, FoodCycle Indonesia also focuses on developing the knowledge, attitudes, skills, and habits of communities to create a positive impact on themselves and build a better Indonesian society. Their vision is to achieve zero food waste and zero hunger in Indonesia.
