About Food for Thought
Food for Thought is a dedicated charity based in the Turks and Caicos Islands, focused on addressing the critical issue of children's nutrition. Established in 2016, the organization aims to combat malnutrition among school-aged children by ensuring they have access to essential meals, particularly breakfast. Understanding that proper nourishment is vital for children's physical and mental development, Food for Thought works tirelessly to distribute food across the islands of Providenciales.
Founded by local residents Jeanne and Karen Savory Igini, the charity is driven by a deep commitment to improving the lives of future generations. Jeanne, originally from New Zealand, brings her expertise in psychology and law, while Karen, a proud Turk and Caicos Islander, combines her background in commerce and law with a passion for sustainable community growth. Together, they strive to empower children with the nutrition they need to lead healthy, happy, and prosperous lives, emphasizing the importance of education and well-being in their local communities.
